(2) Where a police officer is satisfied that it is necessary or expedient to take action under subsection (1), he or she may direct, orally or in writing, a person having or appearing to have control of any craft, vehicle, firearm, ammunition, explosive or inflammable substance, liquid or gas, detonator, petroleum product, dangerous drug or intoxicating liquor, immediately, to remove the vehicle or other articles to a place, being a place within a radius of ten miles of the place at which such thing is at the time of the direction, as may be specified by the person by whom the direction is given.
