18. Offence with respect to assault

(1) A person shall not within an escalated crime area assault, obstruct, hinder, resist or use any threatening, abusive or calumnious language or aid or incite any other person to assault, obstruct, hinder or resist a police officer in the execution of his or her duty under this Act.

(2) A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence.
