(1) Without prejudice to the Criminal Code, a police officer may enter premises, without a warrant, to arrest a person who is engaging or attempting to engage in an act of domestic violence where failure of the police officer to act immediately may result in injury or death of a person.
(2) Without prejudice to the Criminal Code, where a police officer exercises a power of entry under subsection (1), the police officer shall immediately submit a written report to the Commissioner of Police through his or her supervisor.
(3) A report under subsection (2) must contain—
(a) the reason for entering the premises without a warrant;
(b) the act of domestic violence a person was engaged in or attempting to engage in;
(c) the manner in which the investigation was conducted;
(d) the measures taken to ensure the protection and safety of the victim.
