16. Making of a report to a police officer and application for an interim protection order, by a witness
Where a witness to an act of domestic violence has reasonable grounds to believe that a crime is likely to be committed against him or her, by the person accused of the act of domestic violence, he or she may, with respect to the person accused—

(a) make a report to a police officer;
-
(b) make an application for an interim protection order.
