50.   General offences and penalties

  1.  

    (1)   A person commits an offence if the person —

    1.  

      (a)     makes a false or misleading statement in any application or in any proceeding or in response to any inspection under this Act or the Regulations; or

    1.  

      (b)     fails to comply with any order or direction made under this Act or the Regulations.

    (2)   Where a person commits an offence under this Act for which no penalty is specified or provided, the person is liable, on summary conviction, to a fine not less than $10 000 but not exceeding $100 000.
